Palm Leaf Manuscripts
Almost 2170 Plam Leaf Manuscripts consisting Pattu-pattu, Ettu-thogai, Pathinenkeezh Kanakku, Agapporul Vilakkam, Agaradhi Nigandu, Arichandra Puranam, Saminatham, Sekizhar Puranam, Thonnool, Small literatures, Leaves on Medicine, Kamba Ramayanam, Many Temple Sthala Puranams, Veerachoziyam, Tholkappiyam new explanatory notes, Perunkadhai, Ramayanam, Mahabharatham, Bhagavat Gita, Periya Puranam, Ilakkana Kothu are available in the library. Most of them are almost 350 years old and above. The Veerachoziyam text is different and comparably new from the original Perunadevanar Text. The original written script of the Tamil Scholar Shri Mahavidwan Meenakshi Sundaram Pillai, on Seevaga Chintamani and Nachinarkiniyar are available in this library.
Handwritten Paper Manuscripts
Agananooru Arumpadha Agaradhi (Encyclopedia) – 3 Volumes, Thevara Arumpadha Agaradhi, Pulavar Varalaaru (Poets’ Biographies), Notes on Kamba Ramayana, many individual songs written by Dr U. Ve. Swaminatha Iyer and his famed disciples like Ki.Va. Jagannathan, S.Ku. Ganapathi Iyer are all written on Kadukkai inks on Palm Leaves. (Decoction Ink made from Terminalia Chebulia seeds).
Letters
The 3000 plus letters written by many Tamil Scholars to Shri U.Ve.Sa like Julien Vinsone, G.U.Pope, Nelliappa Kavirayar, Ira.Pi. Sethupillai, Manonmaneeyam Sundaram Pillai, Si.Vai. Damodharam Pillai, Vaiyapuri Pillai are all maintained in this library running to almost 8000 pages.
Printed Books
Some 41116 printed books which include Thirukkural Visagapperumal Iyer’s commentary on Thirukkural (1830), Sivapunniya Thelivu (1836), Thonnool Vizakkam (1838) a printed book on hand made paper, Thiruvengaik kovai (1839) are most remarkable collections.

Old magazines like Janavinodhini, Viveka Chintamani, Gnana Bodini, Viveka Bhodini, Chakravarthini, Vidya Bhanu, Puduvai Kalaimagal, Jana Abhimani, Senthamizh, Tamil pozhil, Senthamizh Selvi, Kalaimagal, Ananda Vikatan, Gnana Bhandam, Sri Kumara Gurubarar, Balajotidam, Sengunda Mitran, Vedanta Deepikai, Thirukkoil, Arya Dharmam are some notable collections.

Rare Collections
The things used by Dr. U.Ve.Swaminatha Iyer and the gifts and copper plates given to him by the then Pontiff of the Thirupanandhal Mutt are all preserved here. Many researchers, scholars flock the library for references. At least 2000 students and scholars take notes and data from this library.
